Looking at Rev. Skip Mason's office at Douglass Hall

He is the Morehouse College archivist and I took this picture of an Omega Psi Phi probate from many years back at Morehouse.

At about 1AM

One of those rare times that I'll actually be out this late. I took a picture at the Mays Memorial Burial Site oustide of a dormitory Graves Hall. Spring 2007 is winding down and time for the celebration for the class of 2007.

Don't be a dumbass. READ the entire message above.

On the sheets to sign out of the dorm. I really like the picture of the donkey.

What is this dummy???

Well it's not a dummy but a representation of former Morehouse President Dr. Benjamin Mays. A representation of him and his desk. With a typewriter and even a bulleting from his alma mater Bates College. This is located in Douglass Hall, a study hall.

Douglass Hall

Named for famed anti-slavery activists Frederick Douglass. It is home to many artifacts and pictures from the 140 year history of Morehouse College. You may see a couple of flags (or pennants) with the initials ABC.

Well Morehouse was once known as the Atlanta Baptist College, then later on was named for one of its founders. Still a lot of history to take in there in the form of pictures and even academic robes. Perhaps this inspires students who go there and study.

Another picture on my walk back to campus

Another blurry shot but on the campus of Clark Atlanta University. But not as blurry as the other shot.

A nighttime shot

Darn, I really need to get a grip on not letting these pictures get blurry. And perhaps this is what I get for strolling around on campus from the library just about late at night. It's worth it since we're going into reading period and then final exam week.

Stay in school kids!!!!

I try not to knock our janitorial staff but this can really be a good motivation to tell kids to stay in school or you'll make the errors this guys make in making a sign when they clean the bathrooms. The sign reads...

This bathroom is tempory close

Remember kids,"Keep your butt in school!!!"

Miss Maroon and White pageant

Earlier this week the seven ladies in this competition were campaign on campus. Tonight they have their show with a Q&A, talent, and an evening gown segment. Then we vote.

Here we see one of the contestants playing a piano and singing a contemporary song.

I wish I had a photo of it, but the one act that stole the show was a group of guys performing as Chinese dragons. It was hilarious because it went on and on. Everytime we thought it was over they'd start up again. The crowd hated it, but I found it the most interesting only because of the crowd's reaction.

BT Harvey Stadium

The Morehouse football season doesn't start until next fall but that doesn't mean there isn't any activity at the stadium. At this time there was a track meet held there.

Back on campus

I was walking back to campus and I was near the parking deck on campus. I was in front of the campus coffee shop. A place I don't often go because I'm not a big consumer of coffee products.

The bell

I watched this video produced from PBS a few years ago called Morehouse Men. It's a documentary about Morehouse College and we look into the lives of some of the students at Morehouse. One of the scenes you see will take place here at this bell. A guy says that a Morehouse graduate got his degree got his job and left. However, a Morehouse Man will answer this bell whenever it rings.

I was able to check this video out of the library many years ago. If you want to look for it now do so, it's a great video.

Crown forum 2

At this moment our Speaker Rev. Dr. Echol Nix was talking about the war in Iraq. He expressed his opposition and wish that it would end. Indeed he may have wished that there was no war ever.

Crown forum

Today's crown forum a very special one in time for Science and Spiritual Awareness Week.
